Casualty Notes: The average age of Fort Knox OCS Vietnam casualty was 23.6 years (excluding cadre). The rank of casualties (including cadre) was 6 second lieutenants, 85 first lieutenants, 26 captains & 2 majors. 1LT Robert Leslie Poxon, Class 28-67 F1, was a posthumous recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor. 2LT Roger William Rabey, Class 16-66 D1, was the first casualty, in 1967. 1LT Samuel Walter Parnelle III, Class 9-67 D2, was the youngest casualty at age 20. CPT John Howard Guthridge, Class 6-67 A2, was the oldest casualty at age 34. CPT Frederick Nicholas Suttle Jr., Class 4-67 E2, was the last casualty, in 1972. CPT Edward Francis Miles, Class 6-67 A2, was added to "The Wall" in 2010.  He died in 2004 from wounds received in 1969. MAJ George W. Carter, CDR H1/H2, and 1LT Leslie B. Sayre, Class 24-66, are the only casualties whose remains were not recovered. MAJ James Foley Lewis, Class 9-66 A1, died in the Beirut bombing in 1983 and is on the CIA Wall.
